A Study on the Application Strategies of ICF on the Functioning, Disability and Environmental Factors in Korea - Focused on the Application of ICF in Japan

Abstract
The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is the classification framework on the functioning, disability and health related states. The ICF can be used in various ways, across many fields of application. WHO has recommended to use variously from around the nations. The aim of this study intended to suggest the application strategies of the ICF as an international classification in Korea. According to the objects and applications of ICF agreed by WHO in 2001, This study explored applications in many fields worldwide which were policies, statistics, clinical practice and so on. This study method used mainly literature review, especially in the field of statistics and clinical fields, the application of the ICF in Japan was reviewed by relevant articles, WHO-FIC meeting fosters and reports.
This study concludes that the ICF is revealed it is possible indicators to be comparative data collections across the inter-nations. Also ICF is reflected in the multidimensional model and provides a multi-perspective, biopsychosocial approach on functioning and disability.
